A most enjoyable trip by 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th class to nearby ‘Lios Mór at the top of Deshure Hill’ with Con McCarthy!

As part of School’s Activity Week, 3rd to 6th Classes visited Lios Mór at the top of Deshure Hill. With the kind permission of owner Denis Foley, the classes enjoyed exploring and examining the fort. Accompanied by Celtic Historian, Con McCarthy the children learned about the Celts and their way of life so long ago and words such as palisades, falacht fiadhs and souterrains were explained and discussed. It was a lovely outdoor local history expedition.
